| Portola,

| Completed around
the same time as the portola Drive project, Portola
was a $4-million contract awarded to Griffith
Company by the Irvine Company. Components of
the project included construction of a new street,
sewer, storm drain and water systems, and a dry
utilities package to support North Park, Irvine
Company’s new residential development.
Construction on the road and infrastructure work
coincided with the completion of the San Joaquin
Transportation Corridor toll road, and included
a connector to the toll road. In an accelerated
time frame, Griffith Company crews had to ensure
the Portola project met the opening date of the
major toll road. We also had to make sure Portola
was open by the time the new development’s
model homes were completed, allowing prospective
homebuyers to access them. Our crews successfully
met both critical opening dates, and recently
completed the Portola road, widening it between
portola Drive and the toll road. |
